About StoneyWood

StoneyWood Bed & Breakfast is owned and operated by your hosts, Ivy and Chuck Livingstone. The Bed & Breakfast is located in Greely, a quiet suburb of Ottawa, 15 minutes drive from the Ottawa airport and 30 minutes from down town Ottawa. StoneyWood House, set on a 1.5 arce lot on the outside corner of a small subdivision, backs on to a wood lot for peace and privacy. The one acre property is beautifully landscaped with raised gardens, a stone patio spread under the canopy of an old maple tree and tended woodlot pathways to wander at leisure. The carefully tended property, designed and maintained by Ivy Livingstone, is included in the annual Greely Garden Tour.

The large house, faced in red brick and hand chisseled stone, was custom built in 1970 and was expanded in 1976 to accommodate the owner' six children. Over the past 24 years, rooms have been added, enlarged and renovated to better accomodate family and friends. The effect is a spacious home with a variety of semi-formal and informal common-rooms and semi-private spaces for our guests to enjoy. The livings quarters are separate from the Bed & Breakfast, giving you full freedom to enjoy the common rooms and spaces.

As a guest you may enjoy tea or coffee in the southern exposure of the sun room, the screened porch or the upper sun deck; you may take meals in the casual setting of the sun room or the semi-formal setting of the dining room, you may relax to music or television in the comfort of the family room or curl up to a good book by a fire in the more formal living room; or you may enjoy chatting with your hosts, friends or other guests in any of these rooms or common spaces. We find that each guest finds a comfortable space to call home which they return to again and again.

In addition to operating the home as a bed a breakfast, Ivy occasionally hosts a senior's tea party in her gardens or sun room. The tea party started as an outing for Mrs. Livingstone senior and has become a much-looked-forward-to event for the residents of Osgood Care Centre.
